Female Fighters (Betta)
Betta splendens common name female fighting fish or female siamese fighting fish.
They only grow to about 5-8 cm / 2-3 inches fully grown. They live in water parameters of PH range 6.0-8.0, and temperatures of 24-30 Celsius / 75-86 °F.
Fighting fish are one of the most popular community fish. Their popularity is due to the wide variety of colours and fin markings. They are very peaceful and can mix well with small fish, however they don’t mix very well with each other. They can be mixed on there own or in groups, but if mixed together in groups they need space and hiding places to stay out of each others way.
We would also recommend not mixing them with anything to nippy, although there fins are a lot shorter than the males, other fish can still nip at there fins.
Fighting fish do not seem to eat a lot but they will eat flake, and small granular foods. Plus they do like frozen or live blood worm in there diet as they are a carnivore fish.
Female fighters Only have small mouths they don’t require anything to big. They do like some live or frozen foods in there diet as they do like meat.
They do not seem to eat much either so feeding once a day is more than enough.
