Silver (bala) Shark.
Balantiochelius melanopterus common name silver or bala shark.
They can grow up to 36 cm / 14 inches fully grown. They are best kept in water parameters of PH range 6.5-7.5, and temperatures of 22-26 Celsius / 72-79 °F.
The silver shark is a lovely and peaceful shark, they can be mixed with smaller fish, but mix them when they are small them selves. Silver sharks are better kept in bigger longer size aquariums as they swim very quickly and can be skittish. There bad habit is hitting the sides of the tanks if they are startled, this can cause damage to the sharks and stress them out. They can also jump out of tanks so do make sure the tank is covered.
They do not have big mouths when they a small but they will try and eat any foods you put in your tank. They enjoy a diet of flake, pellets, and granular foods. But they do need frozen, or live foods in there diet like bloodworm or brine shrimp, as these sharks go thin very quick so they do need the meat in there diet.
